I saw the thread on who hasn't been pulled over, and I had to unleash this one...

I was driving my 95gt at the end of this june, to go camping in north-central minnesota. Going to a place that my family has camped at for 30+ years, I know the route pretty well, but this was the first time I drove this mustang up there. State highway 71 goes north from the interstate, most of the way there. It passes through several small towns on the way, which makes the speed limit go up and down all the time ... 30 ... 35 ... 45 ... 55 ... 40 ... etc...

I was most of the way there, and entered a small town where the speed limit dropped. So I slowed down, from 55 to ~ 40 or so. I didn't see the posted limit and was just coasting while waiting to finish through the town. Then a dodge intrepid with no markings or external cop lights pulled up behind me. Lights go on, he's pulling me over. I pull down the radar detector, turn off the stereo, and roll down the window while I wait for him.

He comes up and says I was doing 45 in a 35. I thought that might have been possible but then he asked me my record and I said it was clear (the truth). He goes back to his car with my license, runs tabs, does whatever cops do in their car, etc... then comes back to me.
Then he says I was doing 50 in a 30. Interesting that both my speed and the limit changed, but I didn't say anything. I was too distracted by his mass of arm hair blowing in the wind (that my girlfriend could see from the passenger seat). For some reason he decided not to write me a ticket, maybe because of my profuse apologizing and my clean record but I guess more likely he just didn't have his radar on. He lets me go with a warning, and follows me north out of town.

After he had been following me for about a mile, his lights come on again. I pull over, and sure enough, the same cop is pulling me over again, on the same damn road. This time he comes up and tells me I was doing 48 in a 55. It was news to me that it is illegal to do less than the speed limit ( I didn't say that to him, as much as I wanted to ). I accidentally let him know my speedometer was off, which he told me I should fix. He eventually decided to let me off again.

So basically, in about 10 minutes, I was pulled over *twice* by the same cop, with no tickets. But he did a good job of annoying the crap out of me.

The town was Sebeka, Minnesota. Its north of where highway 10 intersects highway 71, if you know that area. But before grand rapids. There's a statue of some guy holding a giant grasshopper at the south end of town. No idea what the significance of the grasshopped is.

My speedometer reads 20% higher than actual speed. ie: 60 mph on my speedometer is 50 mph in reality.

i was cruising down the main strip in our city side by side with another one of my stang buddies and we were talking back and forth through the windows. We both pull take the same turn and are cruising to wherever we both were going. A cop mashes up behind us and pulls us both over. Apparently we both were street racing at 40mph. He comes to me and gives me a ticket for a 60 in a 30 and he tells me im lucky im not getting a ticket for racing. I said we werent racing and told them if we were he would se us do speeds of 100. And he said just go to court.

I guess i got lucky cuz he gave my friend a street racing ticket and a 60 in a 30 and i only got a 60 in a 30.

I was thinking about racing but im not stupid enough to do it on that road since its been real hot with cops in our town for the last 2 months.

i hate most cops, if i was a cop, and i saw a mustang cruising, nad the stang was worth looking at i owuld pull him over and check the car out and not give him a ticket, but i would be pulling over ricers left and right and giving them tickets for really stupid things.

Situation 1:
Cop pulls up next to me at a red light..
Cop: Thats a nice car there, son
Me: thanks
Cop: sounds nice and loud too
Me: thanks
Cop: ok, pull over....

Kept me on the side of the street for 45 mins inspecting my car saying that it was an illegal exhaust (passed sniffer 3 days prior, had cats and everything), telling me he was gonna have the car towed, call and cancel my insurance and that i would never drive this car again, because i was "lying and my cats were fake, and lyign to an officer means jailtime" and after all that.....let me go.

Situation 2: driving home from the cottage with my gf, having a nice cruise, doing maybe 10 over (in kilometers mind you)

Cop: is that your girlfriend?
me: yes
Cop: do you value her life?
me: of course i do
Cop: then you shouldnt drive so stupidly, or you are going to kill her.......heres your ticket
gave me a ticket for 120km/h in a 90........$400 ticket

FWIW, I've been pulled over several other times in my mustangs, I was previously driving a 78 mustang, which I think the cops suspected as stolen, considering all the times I was pulled over and never even recieved a warning.
But *once*, and only once, I was ticketed when driving. I was allegedly doing 45 in a 30. And this was in the 78, which had a very underpowered carb'd 2.3. He claimed he radared me very close to the light I had just pulled out of ... too close to the light for that engine to have a prayer of accellerating to 45 in that space. I knew there was no chance I was going that fast.
So I took it to court, and met with the DA. Since my record was clear, he lowered it to a fine, and put me on probation with no ticket declaration. (meaning the ticket never made it to my record or insurance as long as I wasn't ticketed again for a year). So I just stayed the hell outta that county for the following year, and now I'm clean again! (almost a year clean, for that matter.)

I slowed down for a car on the side of the road. Figured they might need help with a flat tire and I had nothing better to do at that time of night. It was a cop with his dome light on... fuaker pulled me over for speeding!

I was like.... WTF and I was going to help you change your flat tire??? I told, look I have absolutely nothing to do tonight... and I'm absolutely NOT in a hurry. Actually I'm bored out of my freakin' mind.

It took 15 minutes to talk my way out of that ticket. He kept lowering my speed the more I argued. Got down to 2 mph over. I finally told him, write me the damn ticket and I'll tell the judge I was stopping cause I thought your car was broke down and that you were OUTSIDE the city limits (which he was) and the fuaking speed limit is 55 here, not 35. I turned around and pointed to the BACK side of the speed limit sign.

Come to find out there was another cop in the car.... so I probably got the rookie on his training night.

I've got stories like you wouldn't believe. I've been pulled over 15 times since I was 16.... one ticket so far (and it was for speeding in a fuaking Ford Festiva!).

Tonight! I got pulled over twice on the way home to the military base, just because the roads were wet. First cop simply stops me to check if I'm drinking, and tells me to "be careful with this thing on the wet roads". LESS than 10 minutes later, a military police officer pulls me over and "checks for alcohol" and asks me if the car "is snakey through first on these roads". I tell him yes, it's very light in the rear, and that I drive it as slow as possible so as to make sure I don't get pulled over. He gives me the verbal pat on the back "that is a good idea" and tells me to have a good night. How am I supposed to have a good night with a spotlight in my driver's mirror for a good portion of it. Nothing better to do....at all.

me and my friend are driving down the road, i'm leading(in my red mustang, barely any mods) and he's following in a '02 orange z28. the speed limit is 55, were doing tops 60. it drops to 35 cause of three houses in the middle of fields. so freakin stupid. i see the sign for 35, let off the gas and just kinda coast it out. the nex thing i know, there is this car with their high beams on behind my friend and he's riding his ass. the lights come on. he pulls both of us over.

he's practically screaming at me cause he thinks were are street racing. i'm like, i've never been pulled over before, i've never had any problems with cops before, so i'm being as polite as possible to this jack@ss. he talks to each of us seperate, we both told him that we were on our way to a cruise night thing. he's still saying that we were street racing and he's gonna impound our cars.

long story short, my friend who has been pulled over twice before that, recieved a warning and speeding ticket, got away with a ticket for doing ten over the speed limit(45 in a 35). I got the shaft. clean record before this. the guy gives me a street racing charge and speeding ticket for doing 70 in a 35. it was total BS. how could a car doing only 45 be right behind me doing 70?? i got my license revoked for 6 months because of that crap. drove anyway, but i don't recomend it.

an ex-cop i know has this theory about that kinda of thing. he told me that if i get pulled over, check out the guys gun. if its a standard issue, then he's a guy just doing his job trying to make a difference. if he has something other than issue, like a magnum or something, he's on a power trip and the badge gives him the fix he needs.

one time i was driving down the highway at about 85 in a 65. i approached a small town where the speed limit drops to 50 then to 40. i had just gotten to the 50 mph sign and started coasting. my radar detector goes crazy so i slam on the brakes to about 45 (in the 50 zone) as i start going down the hill, there is the cop and he already has his lights on. im freakin out thinkin im getting a ticket doing 35 over, but i pass him and he still just sits there with his lights on. finally about 15 seconds later, he nabs the car that i flew past like he was standing still. thank god the radar detector saved my ass and i didnt get pulled over. needless to say, it got my heart pumpin.

I wasn't in my Mustang, but when I was stationed in San Diego, I had a 90 Cougar XR7 w/ the sc'd 3.8. It was black with tint, wheels, exhaust, ect. My girlfriend (wife now) was down there for springbreak, so we were staying in a hotel. I pull up to the back exit to escape traffic through the neighborhood behind the hotel. I'm trying to turn left, and there is a police car coming in the same direction I am trying to go. He stops in the middle of the street, and waves me out in front of him. I'm thinking, "Wow, a nice cop for once." Then he flips the lights before I'm even totally out of the parking lot. I pull over, he comes to the window, and asks for the usual. I give it to him, and ask why I was pulled over. He tells me to wait a minute, and goes to his car. 10 minutes later he comes back to the car, and tells me that he was ticketing me for window tint, and for not having a front license plate, and that he was required to scrape the tint off the front windows. I told him that the car was registered in Oklahoma, it was not illegal to tint the front windows in Oklahoma, and that we don't have front license plates. He says "Well, I don't care where your from, in California you can't drive a car that doesn't have a front license plate." So I say, "Well, sir, I can get another license plate to throw on the front, but the numbers won't match since Oklahoma only prints 1 of each different number." He finally concedes to the fact that I don't need a front license plate, but still writes me a ticket for the tint. I told him that if he scraped my tint, his station would be billed for the replacement as soon as I went to court, so he didn't. I finally get to leave. A week later my mom calls me, "Do you know where your drivers license is?"
me "It should be in my wallet, why?"
mom "I just recieved it, your insurance, and your registration in the mail from a police officer in San Diego."
The Jackass messed with me so long, I didn't even realize he still had my stuff. I called the courthouse to find out about the ticket, and they had no information for that ticket number. He realized he was a moron, and didn't turn it in.

it was about 3am in a nice part of town in Houston and I'm the only car on the road, so of course I'm going like 5mph over the speed limit and then my radar goes crazy so i slow down. so out comes a car and follows me for like 2.5 miles, then when I'm turning under an overpass to get on teh freeway he turns on his lights and i pull over.

well i get everything ready licenese/registration/ take the radar down/ roll down my windows bc my tint was illegal at the time and shut off my car as fast as i can bc the exhaust isnt leagal and u can smell the gas coming from it. well he takes me info back to his car and then comes back to tell me that he is pulling me over bc i brandished a firearm out the window.

so he asks me to step out and pats me down against my car. well at this point another cruiser and a polive suv pull up so there is a total of 4 cops there for me. he tells me that i am not under arrest but i need to get into the back of his car and that he is going to search it. so im like sure, bc i didnt do anyhting wrong. so of course i cant fit into the back of the car bc im 6'4 and ive got boots on. so im sitting back there laughing bc i thought it was funny and im listening to the radio and what they are saying. and then i look at his computer and see that he entered my licenese plate wrong. so i figure that is why im in the back of the car.

well about 15 minutes later the cop lets me out and asks me to explain a few things in my car tha the found. like a homemade cheeter bar that i used earlier that day when i was putting in my pullies, a knife i had even though it was legal. he tells me i cant have the bar bc its illegal to carry a blunt object in the car even though i can have a knife, doesnt make much sense to me. so i ask if he wants to take it and dispose of the bar and he is like no thats ok. well i take the bar and open my trunk and put it in there. the cop jumps at the opportunity to search my trunk real quick. well then he tells me that the reason he pulled me over was bc of my licenese plate cover and bc it was dirty, so they didnt know if i was street racing or what. and he says that they are going to be illegal in a month so i should take it off.

well when i get back inot ym car to leave i notice that he tore up my interior and my center console contents were all over my car and he broke the small oval side vent off. so i was a little ticked at this. but there isnt much i can do. so i wait as long as i can b4 i start my car bc i didnt want to get a ticekt for illegal exhaust. so i start it up as fast as i can and leave the street really slow so it stays quiet. then one of the cruisers follws me for like 7 miles until i get onto another freeway.

first and only time i have been in the back of a cruiser, hopefully the last bc those things arent comfortable.

I'm at work, but I'll give you one more laugh. Back in HS I had a kickin' little White 89 S-10 with black grille bumpers and headlight covers. Always seemed to attrack attention, but I thought it needed more.... so I put a dual set of Knight Rider lights on the air dam.

Red flashing lights on the front of a vehicle... definately got some attention.

A buddy and I went crusin' in Monett, MO. And it was the first time I've ever cussed out a cop. I knew why I was getting pulled over. A cop pulled in behind us, hit the cherries and I pulled over. Before that cop could get out of his car another patrol car with MR. BADASS came flying out of no where and slide his car in front of us to box us in. In the process he showered my truck with rocks. Jumped out of his car and came running, not walking, up to the car yelling at me to get my license, registration and insurance out.

Seeing the rocks on my hood. I got quick. I yelled back at him. Did I just rob a fuaking bank? Did I just fuaking kill someone? No I have stupid fuaking lights on my car. Right?

The guy started in on me. Then the first cop came up and TOLD the other cop to go sit in his patrol car. He would take care of it. The other guy was older and while he was noticable mad that I cussed out his partner (probably cause he would have to listen to him all night) we had a sensible conversation about the laws and stuff. He asked if I had the lights permanently wired into the headlights. I told him no. They have their own switch. He wanted to confirm this or I was getting a ticket. He acted like I was lying about a switch. So I proceeded to reach down to the fuse box and yank the wire out that I hooked up for the lights. I actually handed it to him. Still concected in the truck.

He let me go with written warning. IMPERSONATING AN EMERGENCY VEHICLE!

During this whole episode an old nova pulled up at the gas station where we were pulled over. They pulled right up next to our window, WHILE we were pulled over, and the two teens were yelling how cops suck and how stupid they are. Then the proceeded to spin their tires and take off. Neither cop moved. Obviously lights were more important then careless driving.

BTW my buddy and I went to Taco Bell hooked our lights back up and drove through town with them on again. Then drove all the way back home with them on. We were so dumb. :7

There, there's one more for you. I'll post about out running the city taxi sometime. He tried to "pull us over" til the cops got there for doing donuts in a closed icy parking lot.

I have a TON but I will just highlight the most interesting one.
Me and my girlfriend at the time were on a road trip in my cobra to Washington DC and were drivin thru some backwards ass town in Virginia at about 2am looking for a hotel for the night. I pull into a parking lot of some shopping center to look at the map as we had directions to a hotel in the area. As I pulled into the parking lot, a cop was leaving and I saw him stare at me thru his window like my head was on fire. I think "ok...wtf" and drive into the parking lot. I see the cop do a 180 in the street and fly into the parking lot behind me. He gets out, hand on his gun and orders me to get out of the car and put my hands on the hood. He said I was suspected of street racing... Apparently earlier that night there was a race and a car got away from the cops. So while I wait spread out on the hood, 2 other cruisers pull up. By this time my g/f is freakin out and crying. After about 15 mins of talking to the cop, one of the cops from another cruiser comes up and takes the officer aside. They say "We're sorry sir, but apparently this is not the car we were looking for." So I am pissed at this point and demand to know why they thought it was me. Thay say because it was a red sports car. I wanted to know what kind of car it really was and they said it was a red camaro...WTF. So after I get my g/f calmed down we go on our way. I must add that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the state of Virginia. I go to school at Virginia Tech (I'm from near Pittsburgh (Wheeling, WV) and I've had nothing but problems with law enforcement in this state.
