Question What are the best Plugs to use w/ nitrous - 10-08-02, 05:59 PM

I am currently using NX wet kit on my 2001 GT and running the stock motorsport platinum plugs. I have been told to switch to copper or irridium plugs with the nitrous, but am not sure which to use. i bought some cheap bosch copper plugs (.79 cents each!) but havent put them in because im afraid I will lose some performance. i was interested in the denso or NGK irriduim plugs but they run like 12 bucks each! i wouldn't really mind spending the 200 bucks on those plugs if i knew that they would last for a while, but im afraid that i will have to replace them after 30,000 miles or so. Im basically trying to find the best performance that is the most cost effective for my application.. any help is really appeciated.

ummm 200?
how does 12x8 add to 200?
but anyway I would stay away from the rare earth metals like iridium
I would go Autolit 24's or 23's gapped at .036-.038

Autolite 23's will not work in the new 4.6 heads. But definately get rid of the platinum plugs since they will hold on heat which can lead to detonation and a new motor. Get some regular autolite 763's and close the gap to .035. Just be careful because a buddy of mine destroyed the #6 rod in his wifes car with a 125 shot while it was on the dyno. Did make some impressive numbers before she blew thought.

I'm running NGK TR6 plugs gapped at .035 with a 140 wet shot and no problems. Do not stay with platnum plugs!

I'm running a 125 wet shot and the plugs I'm using are : NGK Spark plugs BR7EF (.035") almost 2 years now and I went through 2 set and they work perfectly , don't use any platinum or fine point with nitrous...

150 wet kit + autolite 23's = fouled plugs.

I'd stick with the NGK's...I've had much better luck with them.

DO NOT USE THOSE PLUGS IN YOUR CAR WHILE SPRAYING. NGK Tr6's are cheap and get the job done right, and are gapped at .035 which is perfect for your ride.

ngk TR6s are ok for 100 shot and under , anything more , I would recommend the autolite 103 or ngk BR7EF , gap any of them at .035
