98 Cobra Cutch Adjustment - 06-20-03, 08:33 AM

How do you adjust the clutch on a 98 cobra, I believe the clutch and cable are stock. The problem is I do not get engaged until the pedal is nearly completely released.

Thanks

If you put your foot underneath the clutch pedal and pull up on it, all the way to the top, it will adjust itself. Also (engine off) depress the pedal to the floor and then slide your foot off the side and let the pedal fly to the top untouched, that should do it for you.

After doing that it should be better as it's self adjusting. You could also buy an aftermarket quadrant.

Mine's the same way, I'm pretty sure I have the stock clutch.

There's a description of adjusting it in the owners manual, but I don;t know if it adjusts the "grab" point.

Great, I will give it a try, I have a fox body also and I have adjusted it by pulling the pedal back.

i have tryed pulling back on the pedal and it didn't feel any different. i only have 25000 miles on it. it doesn't feel like it is slipping bad but the grab is not what it used to be and the pedal is really high. any other idea's other than replace it with a better clutch.
