i have a 94 v6. in my steering wheel there is a bit of play like almost 1 to 1.5 inches where the wheels dont turn just the steering wheel, its been doing this for a while but it really is starting to bug me, cause when its windy out the wind will blow the wheels and they actually move that much with out my steering wheel moving. anybody else have the same problem or know what im talking about?

Do you have new (non stock size) tires?

yes but this problem actually started before i got them

Man i got that same problem but sorry i dont know how to fix it either.

You may have loose tie rods, steering rack, maybe ball joints. Get under your car and start yanking on everything down there to see if anything wiggles. There shouldn't be any play in any of the steering components down there. If everything is tight, take it somewhere to get looked at as it may be something else like within the steering column itself?

wow that was out of nowhere.....i had my friend look at it, he said it looks like its in the column
