Nitrous Question? (Different fuel cell with 106 octane) - 10-14-03, 02:43 PM

OK, i saw this on a guys car not too long ago and i was wondering how it worked. He had a fuel cell in his trunk that he ran 106 octane in. The tank was only for when he hit the nitrous. How hard would it be to do this? I know i would have to get another fuel pump. But instead of tapping into my schrader valve and using the fuel from my car i was going to try this to see if it would work? If i would do this could i run 91 octane in my car and not have to worry about octane booster since the fuel going with the nitrous will be 106? im going to be running a NX wet kit with a 150 shot. what all would it take to set something like this up????

Never done a setup like this but run a fuel cell and a fuel pump (depending on what your nitrous kit is rated to, most direct port kits are low pressure, most single fogger are high pressure) to an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, then run a return line. Hook up a switch for the fuel pump to your nitrous arm button or have a seperate switch to turn on the pump. Voilla.

i did what you are talking about. It was for a carburetor plate system though. Worked great, had 115 in the cell with separate pump and line that went to the gas solenoid. Ran 93 in the car and sprayed a 150 shot. Never had any problems and didn't have to buy expensive gas all the time.
