They are not nitto's but, with my bfg's I drop the air pressure down to 12psi. You probably won't have to take them down to 12psi but, I'm just saying you can if necessary. Also, do a decent burnout everytime with them. Look for smoke in your rear views. On the first pass with them I'd burn roast the "F" out of them. I use a wet burnout like slicks. Just roll through do a quick blip of the throttle when in the water to get the tire coated and roll forward and do you burnout. Good luck!

Heres what i do on my nittos. Drop them to 14psi. Pull my back tires into the waterbox give them a quick spin to get them wet. Pull up a few feet and spin the **** out of them till they smoke real good. They hook great for me.

If you are basically stock, the burnout isn't that critical for you. Just spin them enough to clean them off. Make sure to go through the water so your posi doesnt make 1 tire spin in the burnout.

I do the same thing 14 psi, back in & spin. Pull out and burnout. Drop it at 3k. In my auto I just do a dry burnout to clean them and dont even drop the air.

Going sideways in the box doesn't have anything to do with your burnout. It's usually because of bad water placement and/or amount of water in the box. I think you will be very surprised by the results if you run a lot more pressure. As far as wear and top end stability. With radials, you really don't need very low air pressure.

The first time i went to the track i was on new drag radials had like 50 miles on them. The first time i ever went to the track i pulled a 1.95 60 foot time. Try the method i posted above it worked well for me and i didnt even launch hard.

I agree with stangin it. You got to heat em up real good. My best 60' w/ 555R's was 1.88. I can't get consistent with them so i'm getting ET streets next.

Nittos have to be heated. I put my psi around 16# and do a good 6-8 second burnout and quickly stage. I normally cut low 1.8's with a best of 1.74 on 17" nittos. -Mark

ET streets by far. Unless you have MAJOR HP, you will not need to go with the slicks. They have lasted me 190 runs with a pretty smoke burnout and you can still drive them on the street and the cops cannot hassle you.

I have a MM&FF comparison around here somewhere. The ET street cut a 1.60 and the Nitto Drag Radial cut a 1.63 (the Nitto was .03 off). They were saying the Nittos drive much better in the rain. I havent had a problem with them in the rain just dont drive stupid and they are awesome.

haha, if you are talking rain now, forget the ET streets. You will be dead or somebody else will. They have grooves in them to make them legal, but they DO NOT help at all.

BDealer, if there were such a thing, that person that invented them would be a multi-millionaire. BFGs are by far better than ET streets for rain. But, that's pretty much understood. No tread, water, no traction.

I buy my tires from a race driver down here so it won't help you. If you are looking for MT, call them up and they can tell you the closest dealer. I got my 26X11.5X16 for $350 mounted and balanced. Small price to pay if you want to order them and have them shipped. Ever see the shipping prices?

I am a little confused about what is seemingly being said in this post and a couple others in this thread. When I was learning how to do burnouts at the track I was consistently told to drive thru the waterbox slowly just to wet the tires and NOT spin the tires in the box. The reason being that as you spin the tires in the box the water splashes up onto the wheel well and drips back down as you are sitting at the stageing line. Thus giving you wet tires or at least wet spots on your tires when you are trying to launch hard.
that seems to make sense to me.
