whos running thier supercharger without a boost/timing retard? - 11-15-03, 11:43 AM

i cant afford that equipment right now, so is it safe to run without it?

sure... just pull the timing out... it will not be optimal for the most part, but should keep the motor together for ya

You can run without one if you have a custom chip burnt for your car that pulls timing out through it.. If you want to set your timing at 18-20 degrees and pull the spout connector out that will lock in timing but yeah it's probably not optimal.

you'll be alright. I would get a custom chip or retard box if your goin over like 8psi or so. but i'm runnen 6 and no detonation at all, just pull the time'n back a bit more, if in doubt just set it back to factory and maybe a degeree back from that. you should be ok.

I am running 10PSI with my timing at 6*(base) with no problems. I do have a BTM and will prob install it tomorrow to squeeze the extra horsepower out of it, but you will be fine with your timing set back.
