Hmmm... Might be close, a 14.9 is right near where a Northstar Caddy will run. And that 14.9 was your best run (unless you run 14.9 on every run) so I dont know if you should chance it, wouldnt want to have to live that down.

with a good launch, you should take him. but, the northstar is a great engine, it'll be a good race

What year caddy and what kind. I am a mechanic a cadillac dealer ship and some of those new northstars are pretty impressive. The newer sevilles and devilles have 300 hp stock, and it doesn't take much to make them quicker. The newer northstars have nascar technology in the eninge and are really impressive motors. I'd watch out because if its a newer caddy, he has a good chance of beating you, those engines wind up so fast for a v8 its unbeleivable. Get a caddy and throw a 125 shot in it at your looking at 425 hp, crazy stuff for a car that looks like grandma should be drving. i say it will be a close race if its an older caddy.

The Northstar will take you - 05-03-04, 09:05 PM

Just from experience, I have killed every Mustang GT I have faced on the street, especially from a roll. My 96 STS pushed 300HP stock, but with the Dynomax Turbo Exhaust I have and the new Air Intake system I have manufactures, the car should do high 13 in the quarter this Friday. I estimate its pushing at least 320 HP now. Be careful and don't get embarrased when that Northstar engine passes you buy.
