Question 17" ET streets - 11-25-03, 08:52 AM

Has anybody used these yet (E.T. STREET 26X11.50-17) ?

I just want to know if they still hook good with the shorter sidewall.

i haven't seen them in action yet. i would imagine they would give you LESS traction compared to a 15 or 16". i would use 15".

Agreed. I haven't used them but they can't give as good of traction as the 15"

Thats what I figured, but I don't want to buy new rims if I don't have to.

They have to be better than the bfg drag radials I can't hook up with now. I got fed up this year trying to launch on those. Best I got with them is a 1.93 short time.

I'm am putting on the KB twin screw this winter, so there is no way I am going to fight with the drag radials again.

I noticed at the sema show picture of the new M/T drag radial it has ET Street on the side of it. Are they going to change the ET Street to a drag radial or have both drag radial and the tube based ET Street calling them both ET Street. I am really looking forward to the release of the drag radial. If it hooks like their other tires it should be awesome.

at the PRI show MT had the 275/60/15 DR on display..these tires have a very soft compound. The only problem is they are only coming out with two sizes by mid Apil of 04.

275/60/15 & 275/40/17

this is what i was told by the MT Representative...not hearsay from someone off the street.

MMFF did a test on the BFG's and the ET streets and pull nearly identical times with a best of 1.70 on the ET Streets and a 1.71 on the BFG DR's. These were on 15's rims at 14 psi. Not trying to sound like a a$$ but you may need to practice a little more on your launch. I could easily pull off 2.0s on street tires so I cant imagine how my cars gonna do with these BFG's on.

Yeah 15" rims are easy....but he has 17" rims. I have the same problem with my 17's as well. On street tires the best I was able to get was a 2.8. Need DR's bad.
