how to remove egg? - 12-01-03, 09:23 AM

some kids think it's fun to drive around late at night and throw eggs on people's cars. my brothers 65 fastback got hit the other night and i saw it in the morning and tried to rub it off. most of it came off, but now there is still some that is left on it. you can see it as well as feel it, it feels like a fine sandpaper. so any tips on what to use to get that crap off?

Just a suggestion but how about wet sanding it with fine paper?

You could try some bug and tar remover and see if that helps. If not, try vinegar, that should take it off.

Put some hot water on a rag/cloth, and leave it on the egg spot for 10 minutes or so. It should be much easier to get off...

i'd try some clenaer with a mild acid in it, such as dawn. Then maybe vinegar, then a claybar. If none of those work, you may have to do do some wet sanding...

ok cool, i'll give these options a shot. i tried washing it normally but it only got some off. there is still some on there and i just wanted to see if i could remove it. luckily the paint on the car is not in the greatest condition and we're gonna repaint it, just not right now.
