Help with Transbrake and Valvebody install... - 12-06-03, 06:25 PM

I just bought a reverse manual valve body with transbrake from a fellow stanger.

There are two wires that come off of the transbrake itself. One goes to a spaded terminal on top of a pressure regulator? (it says 54PSI on the side of it)(wire 2 in pic).

The other wire comes off the transbrake, and just has a spaded terminal on the end of it (wire 1 in pic). ON top of the "pressure regulator?" is another spaded Terminal.

I am assuming that I have to run another wire from the top of that pressure regulator and wire it to a button with a 12v source and the other wire that is off of the transbrake? Am I right on this?

There is also a hole labeled "OUT" on the transbrake...do I do anything with this hole? Its threaded.

Enclosed is a pic with some labels.

Help

Shane

I'd recommend a couple of things.
1. Find out the brand of trans brake and look on line for directions online
2. Let a tranny shop do the job.

The TCI I just bought (for a C6) only has one wire running from the soleniod to a plug that goes through the case that hooks up to 12VDC through a switch. I'm figuring it's grounded through the valve body to the chassis. My kit came with 1st gear and reverse clutches and steels and if my trany has a 4 clutch pack in the drum (which I don't know yet) it has to be converted over to a 3 clutch drum. That's why mine will go to a buddy of mine with a shop so it can be done right. A trans brake can seriously screw up your tranny if it's not done right, better safe than sorry IMO.

its just a matter of wiring with this one. Its already mounted to a billet plate with a valve body. i can install the valvebody no problem....just need to know If I have to run another wire off that "54psi" valve or if I can just run the 'wire 1' to the switch and thats it.

thread resurrection

im in the wiring problem here too. when i got the car, the green wire to the button was connected to the tranny so im assuming thats the wire for the transbrake. now the red wire to the button was cut so i should assume that goes to a 12V power source with the ignition switch?
