01 CObra shift point?? - 12-08-03, 08:28 AM

hey my friend got an 01 cobra and not sure of where to shift at...im a fox guy so we are shifting at 55-6...i told him 6 just to stay safe but in a race should he b bringing it right to teh 7000 redline? what do u guys shift at.. thanks

6800.

Although if he is stock, power usually starts falling around 5800 RPM's if I remember correctly....but with the stock 3.27 gears, you want to shift at 6800 so when you do shift, you stay within the peak power band.

Launch conservatively at the track (low RPM's) and when there's wheel-hop...LET OFF before you bust a 1/2-shaft.

6800 1-2
6800 2-3
6500 3-4 (if he decides to get 4.10's or 4.30's)
