Vortech V2SQ for a GT on a Cobra - 12-10-03, 04:37 PM

Just purchased a V2-SQ head unit that was originally made for a 2000+ GT. It will produce 8-9psi on a 200+ GT. I have a 99 Cobra. So I called and ordered all the brackets, etc to make it work on my car. I was advised by Vortech that this blower would produce TOO much boost on a stock Cobra (14psi or so) with a 3.60" pulley. My question is....how do I reduce boost to 10-12 psi so I dont ruin my motor. Underdrive pullies? or maybe a larger blower pulley? Can you even go larger than a 3.60 pulley on this setup due to clearance issues. HELP! Suggestions would be nice.

I have the same blower....stock pulley, and it puts out 12.8 lbs of boost.

I imagine you can put a larger pulley on it, but it will take longer to get into boost...not sure.

Make sure you upgrade your fuel system, MAF, injectors, and get a custom tune
