Nitrous and Timing - 12-11-03, 01:40 PM

Okay I have a 2001GT.
I want to spray a dry kit.
should I buy a timing adjuster or can I retard the timing with a chip?
Now this is my daily driver and I will only want to spray occasionally so I need driveablility. Can I do this with a chip or would the TA be better as I could adjust at the track?

Please Help.

I would just adjust it at the track.. but if you want to spend the money on a Start/Retard Control and Timing Control Switch go for it, thats what I have in my car its all MSD,, with a 6AL..

u have 2 choices....

1 - timing adjuster...and just drop the timing a lil when you spray(depending on how much you spray)

2 - get a FLIP CHIP burned and tuned for MOTOR and NITROUS runs

good luck

both are just as good, # 2 is a lil more $$$ but in my opinion better cause its a switch u hit to change, and dont hafta crawl under the car every time u wana adjust

Highest compression with Spray. - 12-11-03, 05:43 PM

Thanks for the replies.
I like the ability to do it at the track, but I might be getting Cams for Christmas and I hear that I will need a tune after they are installed.
Also What is the highest compression that would work with nitrous.
I will be buying a short block soon and would like to raise the compression to get a little more HP out of it when I am not on the bottle. Would this be smart?
