wondering if anyone can shed any light on my poor 60ft times or recommend a place that is helpful/my best 60ft is a 1.72 this was with 27X10.50X15" ET Streets, car weighs 3200 lbs,has solid lower arms, adjustable upper arms, lakewood 70/30's front and lakewood 50/50's rear, has subframe connectors, car has ran a best 12.02 @ 113.5/have to launch below 4000 rpm or it spins-i've never tried taking it up to 6200 rpm and dumping the clutch-the car is a standard???any help on starting line technique or better tires or anything would be great,i know the starting line at our track is not the best but i got to do better

do you have your pinion angle optimal? may be able to get a little more bite messing with that.

i started with the pinion angle 1 degree down(driveline angle 4 degrees)i angled the pinion down more at the track but have not measured it since/i found that doing a burnout with the ET streets makes my 60 ft times worse so i just clean them off and launch-usually leave the line at 4000 rpm-i try to preload the tires a bit before i launch by just letting the clutch up a little against the line loc and then i dump the clutch and go-i also have an Eibach drag launch kit in this car-it didn't help any though

1.72 60ft is pretty good, dont know if your gonna be able to lower it that much without adding some power. but you said your tires spin above a 4000 rpm launch, so there is a little room for improvement. just cleaning the tires off isnt going to get good traction, so you must not be doing a good burnout.
air pressure should be around 12psi, roll thru the water, once the rear tire is in the water use 1st gear to spin it one rev to get it wet, then roll foward out of the water, engage the line loc, use 2nd gear and do a good 4000+ rpm burnout, when you start to see smoke let the line loc off and stay on the gas and let the car go foward, after a few feet let off the gas and the tire should chirp and grap quick, then line up, tach it up and dump the clutch. ET streets need a medium burnout.

there is definatly room for inprovement with the ET Streets. i know there is alot of people out there getting really good 60's with them. perky for example, i beleive he's running very low 11's ~ 124mph. his 60's are ~1.4x or somewhere in that area. i beleive he launches pretty high. even though i don't quite have the power you do, i launch ~5000rpms. you could try to PM perky or rick91gt. i'm sure these guys could definatly help you out. or you could just change to a full slick. BTW, what do you usually run the tire pressure at?

Well I ran 26x11.5x15 ET Streets last year and my best 60' was 1.64. Race weight for my car is 3300lbs and launch from 5000-5500rpms depending on track conditions. I run my tires anywhere from 11.5 - 13psi also depending on track conditions. I would like to run consistant low 1.6's this year. There is always room for improvment. I know when I first got my ET Streets it took a little while to get used to them. I would launch it hard enough but not get my foot to the floor fast enough so it would bog. Now I am to the floor immediately after I dump the clutch.

My cars best 60' is also a 1.720.
I have an untouched suspension besides the sway bar is gone, and a bolt on motor. I launch at 5500-6000 on 26x10.5 ET Streets with maybe 11 psi in them. Also the car weighs 3200lbs. I think you have a mid to low 1.6 in that car somewhere. You just need to get that suspension worked out!

I ran 26x10.5x15 Et streets also. My best was a 1.64. No wheelspin. 5000 rpm launch.
I have Solid NON ADJUSTABLE upper/lowers. Plus a cage and full length connectors help also. I have Koni shocks. It weighs 3050 without me.
You said your not doing a burnout! The Et streets are a slick and they require heat for max traction.
Your 60 is a little soft for your ET.. 11 psi is pretty much as low as it gets. If there is anyway you can launch above 5500 your 60s will really benefit. What is your pinion set at for angle. -3 seems to work for alot of guys.
Heat the tires with a healthy burnout. Launch at 5500 and try not to dump the clutch quite as hard. I know this is difficult becuase you are trying to launch as hard as possible but just try it. I dont dump my clutch by sidestepping. I let it out. My car leaves very hard. Last summer it only ran 12.60s and it was in the 1.6x all year. Occasionally it would go 1.70 on a crappy track.
Keep working with those Et streets. You may also want to try a FULL SLICK and just see how it works out for you.
GOOD LUCK.
