"Valve Clatter" - 05-24-04, 12:49 PM

As a new owner (3rd of car) of a 2001 Bullitt, I wonder if anyone has had problems with "Valve Clatter" under load (75mph in 5th gear). I noticed on Bullitt Archive that there is a report from FORD about it, but I'm not sure if it's something that needs to be looked at or is considered "Normal". Thanks for any help, Greg

Could it be detonation?
If it only does it under load in 5th gear it might be the gas you are using. I live in the same place as you and our 87 octane sucks. Try 89 octane and see what happens, all you have to loose is some more coin at the gas station.
