Does anyone know what the NC Highway Patrol did with their old 5.0 foxes after they retired them? I think it would be bad ass to find one somewhere, especially with that silver/black paint job still on it
Not sure because I am from california, however when the CHP was selling their LX's I remember seeing dozens for sale in their facility near my pad..They had all of them painted black and sold them to the public, and Yes I picked one up for $3000 and dumped $15,000 into it over the last 3 years..

They are all long since gone, sold at the state surplus auction, or directly to local law enforcement to complete their tour of duty. I don't think that you would ever find a black and silver one, as they were all resprayed to solid black, the only exception being the unmarked units which retained their original color. The last Mustang that I ran across at the surplus sell was a maroon ex-sbi car, which was in rough shape with about 180K on the clock. That was about 2 years ago. The only cars at the surplus sale now are solid silver crowns and a few black camaros. The NCSHP will not sell a black and silver car per the state statutes on highway patrol car colors.

I remember in the 90's that they had brand new NC Mustang Patrol Cars with the 2-tone paint reversed and didn't want them so they acutioned them all off. I wanted one of those sooooo bad but at the time had no cash to do so.
I think they had that reverse paint and auctioned off some caprices like that too; I actually saw an NCSHP stang at a car show a little wile ago though, the hp had set up a little display of past and present type deal.
