The May Motor Trend is out with the article on the GT500!
Of course, since it was written about 3 months ago, there seems to be some discrepencies from what was announced at the NY Show. I don't have it in front of me, but things like how Carroll Shelby hadn't driven one yet, that "Cobra" wasn't officially in the name, expected price, etc. It was briefly mentioned that originally there was consideration for a more powerful SVT Cobra with IRS in addition to the Shelby GT500, but that idea was scrapped at some point. I hadn't heard this before, so not sure where that ever went (besides the obvious conclusion of the Shelby Cobra GT500).
They did say that the expected colors were Red, Black, White, Blue and Silver. There was also some interesting comments from Thai-Tang about the use of the solid rear axle instead of IRS.
Of course, for anyone waiting for one, the magazine is all we get for now.
