I was in the parking lot of Best Buy the other day when I look up and think oh wow. there's another 01 true blue cobra. But, then as it gets closer I see mustang emblems on the side. I think, hmmm this thing has the 01 cobra hood and wheels that look just like 01 cobra wheels without the SVT in the center. I had to look close to see the difference.
The young lady in the car says nice car to me. She claims to have bought it from a dealer in early 2004.
Here I am think there are only 300 or so true blue cobra and as it turns out Ford is making clones.
I guess this is no big deal. Ford needs to sell cars, but do you suppose they plan to do this with future cobras and specialty cars?

Its not so much dealers selling clones but three things lining up to make a V6 or GT look very similiar at distance to the rare True Blue Cobra. Of course, the color continued on GT and V6 Mustangs past the 01 model year. Then Ford showed their love for us by selling rebadged copies of our polished wheels as options and then of course, the V6 Mustangs got our hoods.

However, there are enough subtleties that set the Cobra apart as a whole package and probably very few people who want to spend the money to clone it completely.
I, too have never seen another TB Cobra coupe on the road. I have seen a couple of TB Cobra convertibles, but the last TB coupe I saw was at the dealership as they had two when I bought mine and the other one sold right around the same time I bought mine.
