ford aerostar rearend gears - 04-18-07, 10:11 PM

hey, looking for some info on an areostar rearend gears. what size rearend did they come in? 7.5 or 8.8? also what size of gears are in the rearend, 3.08, 3.55, 3.73 ETC. thanks.

I'm pretty sure they are 7.5's, and the differential is off center in those rears. Just stick with a mustang rear and dont try junkyard shopping.

7.5.
The rear end wont work in a Mustang due to the offset- the reason you need two passenger side Aerostar axles to do a 5 lug swap.

what about just the gears? not the axles or houseing.

The gears are different. I believe the 7.5" and 8.8" refers to the diameter of the ring gears.
