Might work on something that doesn't draw a lot of air to start with such as in, say, a 3-cylinder Geo Metro. On anything else, though ...

FOR MASOCHISTIC PLEASURE: 1984 Mustang LX 5.0 hatch ("The Black Pearl") - AOD w/shift kit, 84k miles, CFI, single 2.25" exhaust, and nothing else ... YARRRR!

FOR EVERDAY BUSINESS: 1986 GMC S15 ("Stinky") - a bajillion miles, x-cab, 5-speed, 2.8L, 2WD.

I hear they're a great upgrade over a leaf blower?

Hey, now. Leaf blowers have been dyno-proven to increase horsepower! Haven't you seen that vid with the dudes aiming one at a Civic on a dyno at the same time as opening a bottle of nitrous and spraying it right into the air inlet at the same time? I think they got an extra 40 horses or so out of it...

I think the benefits of that extra 40 horses or so will be pretty much negated by the weight of two dudes sitting on your hood with a leafblower and a bottle of nitrous, though ... not to mention that I'm pretty sure it wouldn't pass NHRA tech inspection...
