Some say that the new
Transformers movie is a long-running ad for GM and the new Chevrolet
Camaro. I say “So what?”. As a youngster in the 80s, I experienced
everything the Transformers legacy had to offer. Science Fiction, technology, and the
long-standing battle between good and evil—c’mon, what’s not to love? Hard-core Transformers fanatics have referred
to the movie as “far from the (original) series” and “commercialism in
cinematics”. Some truth might weight
into this, but overall, the movie does what the original series did
best—captivate the audience with the wonder of what could be. There is an abundance of wonder in the
storyline and without knowing the movie’s plot (before spoilers), I must say
that Bay & Spielberg built their 2 hours quite well.
